The first week of August, 2010, we squeezed in a week in Southern California before school started. Summer ended up being a bit stressful, after Jeff's nose injury derailed our routine. It was wonderful to escape the heat and have fun with friends and family.
The Lintons, good friends from our year in Hacienda Heights (2001-2002) graciously welcomed the kids and me into their home for the first part of our trip. The kids and I all enjoyed time with our good buddies! Becky is so creative, and introduced us to the joy of homemade slime.
After several days of frolic and play, we picked up Jeff at the airport on our way to San Diego. Some generous friends let us stay in their condo for a long weekend, and we made the most of our time.
We had a spectacular day at Sea World! Part of the fun included the all-you-can-eat admission, which we justified after having received half-off on the ticket entry. It was a thrill for the kids to be able to eat what they wanted, when they wanted. We packed in as many shows as possible, and stayed through the fireworks. We had a great day!
We always love going to the beach. Rebecca and Andrew spent the day boogie boarding, Katie built sand castles with Jeff, and the Cheetos and I kept Matthew entertained.
